The Grace Mosaic residency programs are designed to train and support the development of young men and women preparing for the work of cross-cultural ministry whether as vocational ministry workers or lay laborers with outside vocations in society.
Young women and men in our tradition—especially those from minority backgrounds—often have limited opportunities to be formed in settings that understand and nurture intercultural competence and prioritize cross-cultural mission. Because of this, we seek to provide a more equitable Residency experience that centers on minority and cross-cultural formational needs.
The mission of Grace Mosaic, a mission that leads us to address some of the most materially critical and culturally significant needs in our communities, requires strong oversight and creative support. Because of this, the Residency program is designed to support and expand our work of cross-cultural mission while investing this vision in the hearts of our residents.
One of the unique opportunities and critical needs inherent in Grace Mosaic’s cross-cultural ministry is that of developing a network of church leaders who are equipped theologically, culturally, spiritually, and practically for this kind of work. Because of this, we have designed the Residency program to assist in developing a network of such leaders in our community and around the country.
We currently have two tracks within our residency program. Pastoral residents are those candidates who are enrolled in seminary and are preparing specifically for the work of pastoral ministry. Formation residents are those residents who may or may not be enrolled in seminary and are preparing for the work of spiritual formation, whether inside or outside of the church.
